Michael Burke
Print BioMichael J. Burke was a judicial officer for over 30 years, serving as a trial judge in DuPage County, and as a justice on the Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court. While on courts of review, Judge Burke authored opinions touching on most areas of the law. Judge Burke graduated with highest distinction from The John Marshall Law School in 1984, and served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in DuPage County before joining the bench. He has extensive teaching experience and has written articles for legal publications. Judge Burke is a member of the Illinois Judges Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He is a neutral arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association where he serves on the Association’s Judicial, Commercial, Consumer, and Appellate Panels.
